Tying Hook
I usually sea fish & use traces to tie my lines, Now fresh water, How do i tie float, weight, hook?
Any help much appreciated. Thank you in advance.
float: slip bobber thread the line through the knot, slip the sleeve off, tighten the knot over the line, adjust to the depth you want, slip a bead on below the knot, then the float. (the manufactorer makes kits and the directions are on it)
weights: split shot clamps on the line; egg sinkers get threaded on the line, as well as bank, pyramid, and plastic worm sinkers, though bank and pyramid can be either tied on or used in a 3way swivle; if you are using just a weight and hook, no float, thread the weight on the main line, bead, then a swivle, then leader to the hook or whatever; if using a float, just about the same goes, you need to adjust the weight.
hook: i use a polymar knot or a fiserman's knot, the hook is 6 to 12 inches below the sinker with no float, or whatever the depth is below on the float. good luck.
